~ A few projects that have been born out of sailing in Hawaii ~
Lani Shades – Sailors need sunglasses for looking up at the sun to trim the sails. The perfect sunglasses for sailing must have the best quality polarized lenses for seeing the reefs below the waves and must float if they fall overboard. The crew of Sail Hawaii had tried them all but dropped a few overboard and watched them float away. Sailors love the ocean and don’t want to add to the growing problem of plastic pollution, so stylish, sustainable, floating Lani Shades wood sunglasses was born.
Sail Hawaii – Captain Greg founded and operated Sail Hawaii out of a classroom in the Ilikai hotel as an American Sailing Associated affiliated sailing school from 2014 – 2022. In May 2022 Sail Hawaii was sold to Pink Sails Waikiki. Captain Greg is now a freelance sailing instructor and is available to teach with any sailing school worldwide.
Float Savvy – (Concept in progress) Sailing instruction resource and social network for sailors and instructors around the world.
