In this 7 day sailing adventure you can expect to live aboard a 35 ft classic style sailboat with 2 to 4 student /crew (+ instructor / Captain = 5 max total aboard) and learn all aspects of cruising life on a sailboat, including: safety procedures and equipment, trip preparation, navigation and weather planning, diesel engine and systems maintenance, sail theory and practice, anchoring/ mooring practice, heavy weather and offshore tactics and provisioning/ preparing and enjoying healthy, delicious, simple meals aboard. Your Captain / instructor will be aboard with you for 7 days and lead the experience but everyone will work together to make it all happen. At the start of Day 1, you will plan the sailing itinerary with your crew based on the weather forecast and boat’s capabilities and generally can plan to sail from our homeport on Oahu to anchorages and harbors around Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Oahu. Kauai and the Big Island are also possibilities but these islands are further and require more time at sea and a night time crossing. Sailing to Molokai may also include some unforgettable land exploration, led by an experienced local, to places rarely visited in Hawaii. The typical 7 day itinerary is:

Day 1: Meet at 9am, plan & prepare for the trip, set sail by mid afternoon, cruise and anchor off Waikiki

Day 2: Sail to Molokai, anchor and spend the night in Lono Harbor

Day 3: Sail to Lanai, anchor and spend the night off West Lanai

Day 4: Sail to Maui, anchor and spend the night off West Maui

Day 5: Sail to Molokai, anchor and spend the night in Kaunakakai

Day 6: Explore Molokai by land, spend 2nd night in Kaunakakai

Day 7: Sail back to Oahu (longest leg), return home after sunset.

Possible variations (depending on weather): West Oahu, Windward Oahu, North shore of Molokai

Other variations are possible but this plan involves sailing by day and getting to our destinations in daylight and maximizing the experience, balanced with safety.
